20 Dec Congress Just Backtracked on Cannabis Reform

Like most years, the US saw some progress in the way of cannabis reform this year, and congress quickly and silently backtracked.

Congress struck down both the SAFE and MORE Acts this week. According to Forbes, these amendments would have permitted cannabis banking and offered protection for veterans and recreational cannabis states.

Numerous polls show that most Americans want to legalize cannabis. Yet, our elected officials still fail to represent the will of the people who elected them.

It is unlikely that any progress will happen in the way of cannabis reform until we elect some new officials to represent us. Which isn’t a possibility till November 2020.
