1Is this weed?
NO! Weed, or cannabis, is illegal to Floridians that don’t have a Medical Cannabis card. We do not sell cannabis, but we do sell hemp. Hemp is like cannabis, but it is high in CBD and low in THC. Hemp has under .3% THC, which makes it legal in all 50 states.
2What is Hemp?
According to federal law, hemp is a plant that contains less than .3% THC and has high amounts of CBD. Hemp can be used for several different purposes, including industrial and textile purposes. Although we do carry some hemp apparel we use the flowers of the hemp plant to source CBD for medicinal purposes. This allows us to utilize cannabinoids without having to source them from cannabis.
3Will this get me high?
No, THC is the psychoactive cannabinoid in cannabis that is responsible for the high. Since hemp is low in THC and high in CBD then it is impossible for you to get high using it.
4Will this make me hallucinate?
No. K2 or spice was a recently popular drug that looked like cannabis and could make you hallucinate. This is very harmful to your body and has no medicinal benefit to our knowledge. WE DO NOT SELL OR CONDONE THE USE OF SPICE OR K2!!!!
5Will I pass a drug test if I use these products?
Some of our products have trace amounts of THC (under .3%), these products are labeled as “Full Spectrum” products. We also carry product made from CBD isolate, which means they contain no THC. We will make sure you are educated and aware of what products you are buying and the content of those products. Although the THC content in our full spectrum products is in miniscule amounts (underneath the illegal limit), we do not suggest taking them if you must take a drug test.
6What is CBD?
Cannabidiol, or CBD, is the second most dominant cannabinoid present in cannabis (after THC) and the most dominant cannabinoid in hemp. CBD works mostly with CB2 receptors, which are primarily found in the immune system, meaning it ensures that the immune system is working properly. We certainly suggest consuming small doses of CBD as a daily supplement, but it can also be useful, taken as needed, for pain and anxiety. CBD can be useful for several different reasons and conditions.
7Why should I use CBD?
There are several reasons why you should use CBD. Taken every day as a nutraceutical is a very good reason to start. At Chillum, many of our customers use CBD for their extreme anxiety and/or pain. CBD has also been found to be an analgesic, anti-bacterial, anti-convulsive, anti-emetic, anti-epileptic, anti-proliferative, anti-inflammatory, and anti-spasmodic.
8I can’t/don’t like to smoke, are there other options?
Yes! There are several ways to take CBD. We have topicals, edibles, sublingual drops, and much more. Although smoking is an effective way to take CBD, and we do have this as an option, you don’t have to take it this way.
9What is the Endocannabinoid system?
It is the system, present in the human body, that responds to cannabinoids. We make our own cannabinoids in the human body called endocannabinoids, but the endocannabinoid system can be supplemented by phytocannabinoids which come from plants. The endocannabinoid system has been recently recognized as an important modulatory system in the function of brain, endocrine, immune tissues, and other areas of the human body. This system is responsible for regulating the human body properly.
10What dosage should I start with?
It is possible to build a tolerance to CBD. Because of this it is important to take CBD as little as possible. It is also important to remember that CBD is completely safe, and you are in no way in danger of taking too much. People who are new to CBD are challenged to find the dose that works for them. The process is called “self-titration”, it is like how diabetes meds are dosed, and simply means that you’ll have to experiment a bit before you will be able to find the right dose.
First, understand how you will respond to the delivery method you’ve decided upon. Inhaling the cannabinoids kicks in right away, a sublingual drop can take 20min to kick in, while an edible will take about an hour. We suggest starting with a small dose, wait for it to kick in (example: wait an hour for the edible to kick in), if you don’t feel the effects then take more. After doing this a few times you will have a better understanding of what your personal dose is. Be sure to come in and talk to our Hemptenders for more guidance.
